Forsberg scores twice to lead Predators past Panthers

Filip Forsberg scored twice to help the Nashville Predators race out to a four-goal lead and Ryan Ellis had three assists in a 5-2 victory against the Florida Panthers at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday.
Forsberg, who had 63 points (26 goals, 37 assists) as a rookie, scored the first goal of the NHL preseason on the power play at 13:43 of the first period. He scored another power-play goal 8:25 into the third period to give Nashville a 4-0 lead.
"We're just trying to figure out how we want to play during the season," Forsberg told the Predators website. "Obviously you can't expect to have this many goals every game during the season, but it was a great start and we've got something to build on."
Vladislav Kamanev, Roman Josi and Colton Sissons scored for the Predators. Carter Hutton made eight saves; Marek Mazanec allowed two goals on 14 shots.
Connor Brickley and Jussi Jokinen scored power-play goals for the Panthers. Mike McKenna played the first two periods for Florida and allowed three goals on 19 shots. He was relieved at the start of the third by Colin Stevens, who made eight saves.
